Sure, former President George H.W. Bush may have been really sick last year, but the 88-year-old is apparently feeling well enough to greet this year's new Houston Texans cheerleading squad! The 41st President handed out roses to the cheerleaders, Bachelor-style.

A cheerleader named Morgan told the NFL Network that Bush was "so lively" that no one would have thought he was so ill recently.

Apparently the cheerleaders had visited last December while he was sick. The Houston Texans said that they got a call from Bush's people, saying he wanted to come to tryouts. Cheerleader Director Alto Gary said, "Like I could say no!" She added, "When he came in, he had the biggest smile on his face."
The cheerleaders complimented him on his socks; Bush replied, "I'm surprised you noticed them."
